Benefits of Exfoliation

Does your skin cleaning routine include exfoliation? If you’re just cleaning your face with soap or a facial cleanser, it generally isn’t enough. Regardless of your skin type, a good exfoliating product will rejuvenate your skin and should be included in all beauty routines.  Consider these benefits:

  • Helps to maintain clean, clear skin

If you’re looking for ways to keep your skin clear and free of pesky acne, blackheads or blemishes, exfoliation does just that. Pores clogged with dirt and oil will encourage acne and blackheads. Exfoliation helps to get rid of oil and grime buildup in cells, reducing breakouts and blackheads.

  • Encourages Cell Renewal

If dead skin cells are allowed to pile up, the skin becomes dull and dry on the surface. Slough away dead cells to allow new skin cells to grow in their place, a very natural way of encouraging cell renewal. The result is younger skin with a healthy glow.

  • Prepares Skin for Better Absorption

Exfoliation leaves the skin fresh and ready to absorb nutrients from your moisturizer. Better absorption means better nourishment for the skin.

With all these compelling benefits, which exfoliants should you choose? We love our Isun Intense Exfoliant because of the effective ingredients used:

  • Lactic Acid derived from honey

Honey is a humectant, with the ability to hold in moisture and contains antiseptic properties as well. Lactic acid from honey is one of the most gentle and hydrating of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). This particular exfoliant contains 60 percent of honey-extracted lactic acid. The high percentage of this effective AHA works on the skin to cause the epidermis to become “unglued”, making it easier to slough away dead cells. That means saying goodbye to rough skin, photo-damaged skin and dull and dry complexion and hello to soft dewy and fresh skin.

  • Aloe Vera and Aloe Vera Gel

Since ancient times, aloe vera has made its mark as a healing plant, hence the Egyptians’ reference to it as the “plant of immortality.” Medicinal properties aside, aloe vera contains high levels of antioxidants such as beta carotene, vitamin C and E to nourish the skin, encourage cell renewal and promote supple skin.

  • Organic Oils

Isun Intense Exfoliant also contains Lavender and Geranium Oils. Lavender contains antioxidants that help to fight irritants and pollutants that age skin. Geranium oil, on the other hand, acts as an astringent to tighten facial skin and reduce wrinkles.
